Polishing nano coated paint

I purchased a car over a year ago, that had recently had a nano coat applied.

There a a few very light swirls I would like to correct , but wondered how I would go about this, with it having this coating?

I’m not sure of these flaws were missed before the nano coat was applied, or done by the previous owner shortly after- but would like to try removing them.

The car only comes out in nice weather, so hasn’t been subject to a lot of cleaning.

Sorry for boring question, thanks for any advice.

Could maybe think of trying the mildest polish and pad you can lay your hand on but suspect you will remove some or all of the coating. Might worth thinking about a glaze

CarPro essence plus was designed for this job, could be something to consider.

Depends what coating is, then it depends it the swirls were already present when that was applied. Or if they have been inflicted since coating.

Certain coatings can very easily be polished and patched (well whole panels).

But if you don’t know what it is coated with, and you didn’t pay for it, polish away. Just do whole car, or whole panels, if you are happy with the rest of the car.

It's a 2005 Fire Opal Red Mercedes CLK55- yes it's a keeper!

You ned to use an abrasive to remove defects, and if you remove defects you are actually removing the material they are in. Thus, if you polish the car, the "nano coat" is gone. So treat it as paint, polish it, recoat it.

If you don't want to remove it then carpro essence plus will maybe help but you wont be removing defects permanently.

Very nice car. Destined to be an old school classic as this era becomes ‘bygone’. A keeper indeed.
