Hi,

I have narrowed down 3 sealants that i can use when i detail my car..

Which one should i go for?

My car will be clayed and polished, prior to sealing.

• Do i need one coat of sealant, or multiple?
• Can i appy more then one type of sealant? or is this not required?

Hardbody is a coating mate completely different to the others u are looking at.
If u are working outside then hardbody is a no go this time of year as it needs 24 hours to cure before getting wet.
Tough coat is nice n simple + a good sealant.
Dont know anything about the other one.
And I wouldnt top any of then with that last one
Tough coat is great and can be layered for longer durability.
I would advise u to do a little more research before purchasing

If u are looking for quick spray type sealants
The werkstatt acrylic kit would look nice on ur beemer
So would carpro reload, gtechnic c2v3 or artdeshine nano gloss protection.
If u want a simple to use polymer sealant, menzerna powerlock or blackfire, ardeshine artdesicko..
If u want more long term protection u should look at carpro cquk or some of the artdeshine and gtechniq coatings.

As said above, Hardbody is a different animal - it's a semi-coating.

The other two are practically the same thing in different bottles.

Do u have a garage to work in or u doing it outside mate?
Arr u after a quick to apply spray type sealant or are u not fussed if its a liquid that needs to be applied like wax?
And how long are u hoping it to last?
Will help with recommendations

thanks guys, no offence taken...i am i guess still in the middle of researching ;-)

So if i apply Carchem - Sealent - can i top it every now and then with the Sonax?

No Garage, working outside.

Would like the protection to last as long as possible, i do tend to wash my car every week and apply the speed detailer every 3-4 washes,,

Also my new BMW is Grey and not silver as my avatar)

Ash your right..the 500ml carchem is cheaper..

I have used Wolf Nono coating on my cars for the past 18 months. Even stopped buying waxes as the sealant is great.

topping of a sealant with a wax is more for looks then durability.
as some have suggested, you can top it of with an easy spray sealant like reload, or you can defo go for the sonax xtreme briliant QD. I have heard great stuff about it's durabiity.
I'd go with the carchem if I had to choose between AF or Carchem.

I already have the Sonax Detailer, and its great...I guess it would save me buying the wax.

Am i okay to assume i will not apply the sealant again for afew months, till i am ready to clay and polish the car again? were as the speed detalier i can apply as i like after the washes?

Collinite 845 topped up with the Sonax BSD is a great combo

I prefer the 845 to the 476 as it's just so easy to use and whilst not quite as durable as the paste wax it should easily see you through the winter. And if the beading/sheeting does start to drop off you can always us the Sonax to top up the protection

I have only used the menzerna power lock with very good results. It lasts several months with ease and I don't top it up with anything.

you can just use sonax bsd on its own and just apply it like every 2 weeks or every week if you want
