Have corrosion on a brake disc bell housing. Most likely due to brake dust rather than the bell housing corroding. Would electrox be the right treatment?

Is the colour a zinc silver grey?

Does it require over coating?

Electrox must be applied to rust free surface. After application it will appear as a dead flat grey. However once dried and using fine wire-wool it can be buffed to a polished zinc shine. It's about 93-95% pure zinc

Flaky rust free, or should something be applied before electrox to chemically convert any existing corrosion?

once applied, would electrox prevent the buildup of rust on the surface?

Rust free, so wire brush then abrasive followed by deox GEL then electrox - this will prevent further corrosion for a good long time.
