Faded Milano

Hello everyone, just a breif question. Why has my car gone like this ? regularly use maguires products, Honda have said its not a manufacturing fault & could be sun damage ! Car is a ctr 2004. Also what are my options to restore it if any, Regards Bill.

most reds if unprotected will start oxidising, with a good detail it should be fine, the only problem you may have is if it has been clearcoated over a previous oxidisation (bad repair) if you know what i mean.

it most probably is damage that has been caused by the sun and in most cases these jobs tend to be one of the most common but productive ones, having said that it doesn't look too bad from the images.

Unfortunately, Milano Red is one of the worst paint jobs to have. It fades badly under the clearcoat (Civics, Integras, etc). All you can do is keep it swirl free - this at least keeps it shiny.

Since this has been a problem with red Hondas from before 2000, I am surprised that they didn't try to rectify this.
