Hey guys ive watched a few videos on detailing and ive seen a few people machine polish inside of alloys can this be done with any alloy? If so what products to use such as pad, compound or polish. Would metal polish on a pad work or hand metal polish.

Do you want to polish the paint or get it to bare metal and polish it up to mirror?

Yes it can be done.

Its key to remove all contaminates from the wheel first though.
Last time i did mine i used AB acid free wheel cleaner, Iron X, and then wiped down with IPA.
I used my DA with a small head and 3M finishing pad on with merenza 2500.

I then applied some g techniq to seal

Good advice there. I do it it a lot to add some gloss on older wheels. Some newer ones just need a paint cleanser to keep them glossy

Thanks guys the last two answers are exactly what i wanted. For everyone else sorry i dont want to polish paint lol. Im gonna clean mine up and seal for winter. Also could anyone recommend how to get wheel balance glue off it looks awful

Best bet for the glue would be autosmart tardis.
