For the first time in over 40 years De Lorean has released their all electric Alpha 5 and it's the long awaited follow up to the DMC-12. The Alpha 5 retains the iconic gull-wing doors and rear window louvers but that's where the similarities end and that's despite being designed by Italdisign. The Alpha 5 is curvier with a long bonnet, wide wheel arches and a shallow roofline that tapers to the rear. The Alpha 5 receives an all-electric powertrain with a 100 kWh battery pack giving a range of 300 miles, will go from 0-60 in 3.0 seconds with a top speed of 155 MPH. Inside there's a fairly minimalist cabin with a pair of big touchscreens. There's one that rises out of the centre console with the other sitting behind the steering wheel There's seating for four occupants with what looks like aggressive sports seats. No word on pricing, but they'll be an announcement after the cars debut at this years Pebble beach concourse d' Elegance.

I'm not so sure. Obv the brand and name is cool as hell, however personally I would have liked to have seen a less curvy, swoopy design and have had them go down the more boxy route, Hyundai have done amazing with their Ionic (the integrale lookalikey) so I'm sure these could have done similar.

Underwhelmed by it, which is a shame as I am such a fan of the DMC-12.
