Hello all,

Im after a CHEAP paint depth gague, does anyone have any suggestion from where to get one?
I've never used one before but I have seen quite a few variation from electric to magnetic stick ones.
I do quiet a lot of machine polishing, and fingers crossed I've never gone through, but I have a feeling my luck is going to run out one day and thought about investing, but at the mo my funds are low.

So cheap and good if possible

Thanks

Kev

buy cheap buy twice..
invest a bit more and get a PD8 or similar. bear in mind that it only measures total thickness though, not each layer (primer, top, clear coat..). cheaper gauges are likely t be inaccurate as well..

I've looked at cheaper ones too. But think one which does plastics too would be helpful as I would have thought most damage/resprays would be bumpers. Still looking for a reasonably priced one which does bodywork and bumpers before I buy a das6 pro.

I bought one from a seller in poland, it doesnt do plastic sadly but it gets me used to using one and assessing paintwork with a guage. The one i bought has a probe and lead as part of it, think it cost me £60 or so but when i get to mums laptop tomorrow i'll post a link up.
