Polisher - DeWALT Cordless?

As above,both the Dewalt machines are full-size and not really suitable for smaller polishing duties, my choice would be a Shinemate mini rotary although these are corded they really are a cracking piece of kit and come with a selection of extension bars and pads.
 
I don't think the DCM848 would be ideal even if you could source a 3" backing plate if that is what your looking for, it's too bulky. You'd be better off with a cordless Shinemate or similar. I've got a DCM848 and a Flex PXE 80 I got for a good price and between these two most bases are covered.
 
I've had mine a few years and love it, the batteries will give up the ghost before the machine they really are built to last. If it did packup and was beyond repair I would buy another without any doubt, for anyone with any Dewalt batteries already it's a now brainer, I'd even consider the cordless rotary but I've got too many polishers already.
