I have been using spirit for a good while now perhaps 10-12 applications in total and always loved the wax however went to use it recently and found it extremely hard to load any on to an applicator to transfer on to paint. Almost coming off in bits on to the application. Not sure why the sudden change in texture / usuabilty of the wax but I ended up using finishing most of the car with illusion as I got fed up with trying to apply spirit. Just wondering if there would be a reason for this? I know its a hard wax and was never 'easy' to apply but it also never felt like a chore like it did this time  Any ideas anyone?

Might well be if the wax has been exposed to cold temperatures. Try bringing it into a higher ambient temperature (just leave it in your living room for an hour before using) and hopefully you'll find it returns to normal.
