Has anyone here ever ordered the Chemical Guys 'Mystery Box' from their website? https://www.chemicalguysuk.co.uk/shop/sale/mystery-box/

Im assuming it contains the old label stuff that they are trying to get shut of from their sale section, Im just wondering if anyone here has bought it? if so what did you get and was it value for money in your opinion?

Cant comment directly on the CG mystery box however I've now bought 3 mystery boxes from different suppliers. Of the 3 there was only 1 that I was happy with and the other 2 were not value for money for me.

That said I've seen a recent mystery box which I won't name on and here as it's unfair to CG and I've seen social media posts of others receiving their boxes and have to say it looks like a decent deal.

Other mystery boxes I've seen give an indication of potential value of contents which I note CG don't however the whole point of a mystery box for me is it's a gamble and IMO you win some and you lose some.

Seems a cheap enough price and if you want to try CG products I'd say go for it but only if you accept that you might receive products you might not need or use. If all products are suitable for you then it's a result :thumb:

I saw the CG mystery box on instagram and toyed with the idea. They say it's ÂŁ40 worth of goods for ÂŁ30. I don't know if the ÂŁ40 refers to RRP/MRP and the contents could be bought cheaper elsewhere, or whether it'll be full of useless junk they can't shift. Or it might actually be really cool stuff.

I do generally like CG stuff, I use their synthetic detailer and the hybrid v7 pretty much all the time, with the citrus shampoo being in rotation too for deeper cleans.

As pointed out by Stealthwolf though, my question is does the box contain ÂŁ40 worth of stuff at sale prices or at full rrp? if its at sale prices it might be worth a punt

What do you think of Maxi Suds, I could probably do with a new maintenance shampoo as Im running low on my Dodo born to be mild, do you think it would fill that niche?

Ive just watched a couple of unboxing vids on youtube of the mystery box, most were American but they did look decent value for money on a pure cost basis (and it looked to be stuff with the newer labelling on) but then I suppose it boils down to weather or not you actually need or want the items that you get in your box.

Have to agree with Macca that these type of offers are a complete gamble, just like the monthly subsription sampler boxes offered by other retailers/companies.

On the latter i ended up with lots of small samples of things like detailer sprays, wheel coats, ceramic paint coats etc - enough for one or two panels. fine if you want to try a lot of things before committing but in my case i found i had a lot of items that i didn;t want to use on top of products i'd already coated the three cars with.

ÂŁ30 will buy you three reasonable sized bottles of your choice from shampoo, fall out remover, tar remover, quick detailer, interior cleaner, APC, tyre dressing etc etc

i bought one of these and got

synthetic quick detailer
all clean +
diablo wheel get
mr pink
chuy bubblegum air freshener

my brother ordered one and got the exact same as me. and another person on Instagram messaged me and bought 2 and exact same stuff as me in both boxes! and they guaranteed to be worth over ÂŁ40 come to ÂŁ38.98

Not a fan of any mystery box from anywhere as generally it is stuff they can't' get rid off and their values are based on full RRP. Plus you end up with products on a shelf gathering dust as you have no use for them.

Personally i would rather spend the cash on products i know what i am getting and maybe want to try, plus you can often pick up deals from suppliers on here or even the for sale extol but that is just me and everyone is different
