After my previous video of the new Detail Guardz Dirtlock I said I'd do a comparison against a Grit Guard.

I have a Grit Guard with washboard so I washed 2 cars back to back doing half of each car with each set up. This was meant to provide 2 buckets with equal amounts of dirt. Unfortunately the reality was that the bucket with the Grit Guard had more dirt in it.

Hopefully it comes across in the video that the bucket with the Grit Guard has quite a lot of dirt in the water above the Grit Guard which would be picked up by your wash mitt and although not perfect, the Dirtlock has cleaner water above the Guard.

In my opinion the Dirtlock does hold more dirt below it and thus keeps the wash mitt cleaner for contact with your paint. The reality is there's not huge amounts in it but I am convinced that the Dirtlock is the better product and is worth the investment if it's swirl free paint your after.
