Had a look for one of these and seems the only place to get them in the UK is Polished Bliss for £46

Anyone seen one anywhere else? (read cheaper)

Cheers

Ive received the Lake Country adapter system and i think its going to have to go back.

It doesnt fit the 4" CG hex logic pads ive got and it doesnt fit the 5.5" pads of the same make either.

It seems that the system was built for the now extinct Lake Country Hyrid pads at 5" pad, 4" backing - which are a 100% perfect fit. (i acquired a white one). the lake country replacement is up to 5.5" and will be the same fit as the hexlogics.

Im pretty much stuck with the decision of:
1. Return the flex cause the backing plates are bloody expensive and i cant justify buying a dedicated 5.5" and a dedicated 4" - at £44 each.
2. Replace all my pads with 6" versions and use the standard flex backing plate - and struggle on anything thats not a bonnet / roof - again expensive
3. try and source some old stock of the 5" lake country pads

What backing plate did you get with the machine?
It should have been a 140mm (so 5.51 inches) and there is a 115mm option (4.52 inches)

I agree - the original backing plate is good for 6" pads, but 5.5 should be ok, if that's the width of the velcro (which sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't).

The 115mm backing plate I'm thinking is good for 135mm pads, like Menzerna used to do - I think they're 150mm now.

Flex themselves sell 135mm and 160mm pads which follows that logic.

Edit: scholl do 85mm, 135mm and 160mm

I have this which I bought from Polished Bliss. Can happily use 4” or 100 mm pads on it although you do have to be careful of the outside of the plate if the pads not properly centralised. Get one if they’re becoming obsolete because it’s much easier in tight areas than just using the outside of a larger pad (which still works, in my experience, because of it being a driven DA)

I might be being stupid here.

Attached photos of the hex logic pads I use.

On measuring, the larger one is actually 5” exactly for the backing Velcro with the pad being only slightly bigger. The standard flex backing plate then being wider again and makes me nervous.

The lake country adapter is way too small to use a 5” pad. Again the 4” pad is slightly smaller than the adapter backing pad and makes me nervous.

Am I worrying over nothing?
Am I worrying about using 6” pads for nothing? I am a relative novice really with experience of a das6 pro only - which i wouldn’t want to go bigger than a 5” pad on.
