I use one on my roof and windows after washing and rinsing again had no problems

 

It's a nay from me. They do inflict scratching, all you need is a little bit of dirt trapped under it then dragging it across your paint work causing damage. Fifth gear has got a you tube video showing the damage that they can cause.

 

I was contemplating one purely to get rid of most of the water then to pat the remaining water dry so was just putting the feelers out , the roof is the main panel where water just seems to sit lol.

 

They state they don't inflict scratching so I was wondering if anyone one here uses one?"

they say this for that guy who washes his car 1 time a month, who doesn't understand swirls ,etc...
everything can scratch a car, it depends on the handler...

personally, I won't use them, but you have the same chance of scratching the car with a dirty mf towel

 

Fifth gear say so.....................................each to their own if the op feels his car is thoroughly clean why not soon see after a while. Everything can inflict defects if not used correctly

To be honest once your car has a decent layer of protection, it's really easy to dry it with a drying towel such as CG wm or the generic one you find on polishedbliss. Using a water blade is cruelty against paintwork...

 

Aqua blades are great for windows in the morning though.

 

I use one on the windows and the roof of my 4x4, if the car is clean and you clean the blade on every pass i see no problems to be honest.

 

I've used for several years and never had s problem. Just have to use it correctly! After a proper wash, if the wash is not good it will scratch for sure!

 

Used to use one but now I use an über drying towel

Tbh they won't scratch any more than if dirt got caught in a towel or microfibre though

 

I use a water blade. I'm of the opinion that if the car's clean then there's nothing to scratch the paintwork! I rinse it off after every pass..

 

Exactly what I do too....:thumb:

 

Just sheet the water off the car with an open ended hose, then use a plush drying towel to soak up the very small amount of remaining water.

Make that LSP work for you!

 

The scratches I've seen created by a waterblade is keeping me far away from using one.
