Looking great! what did you use for the wheels? thinking of getting a detailed online mystery box now because of this thread!
I've been using up the rest of my bilberry wheel cleaner and Autosmart fallout remover. Used Detailed Onlines Tar remover which was very fast acting. I didn't have any wheel specific sealer so used Detailed Onlines Surreal Wax again.

I cant recommend Detailed Online enough. I really am an Advocate for them

Minor update after a while. Please excuse the state of the car again. There's a lot of building work going on around my street which i have no choice but drive through.

I decided to remove the grooved brake disc and replace with OE Suzuki again. I just couldn't put up with the "ticking" I was getting with them. Though I was warned before hand I didn't think it would grate on me so much.

Whilst there I gave the calipers a coat of silver Hammerite to replace the faded and rusty original factory finish silver.

The removed discs, covered little over 700miles.

I did a bit of research, all be it after fitting and it appears that a few complaints have been made about grooved discs in general, not just this shape.

The ticking was constant, most prominent after 20mph and again faster ticking when braking. I suppose if you have a louder car/track toy it wouldn’t matter so much. But as you can see I don’t drive the car hard with the mileage photo showing 48mpg avg.

I wonder if you might have slightly sticky calipers - the pads are still slightly resting on the surface of the discs causing the ticking noise?

Calipers seem ok. There was very even wear when replacing the original set with these. The rears have a tendency to drag on this model which I have already addressed but not documented I'm afraid.

Going over the car this morning doing the usual checks.

A bit of background, When I first obtained the car I gave it a service etc including a new rocker gasket. Whilst fitting the cover, one rocker cover bolt snapped at only 3nm on the torque wrench.

Very annoying, however it was a clean snap with the thread being flush to to the cover. Everything was tight and not leaking so whilst I was waiting for the new bolt it went to the back of the list.

Something this morning told me to take the air box off and just check it. Here's what I found.

How? I'm not sure. It was wedged in so a removal of the cover was needed.

Another job off the list.

Minor update.

Life has got in the way recently, i haven't found time for anything let alone the car.

The Aircon had lost it effectiveness so that has been re~gassed today, along with a new pollen filter, ****pit "bomb" and a system treatment.

The filter coming out has only seen 10k but was in a right pickle. But all in all a well worth exercise and it now smells fresh again.

The filter is easily accessible right behind the glove box.

Am I right in presuming you only replaced the Rocker Cover Gasket because it is listed as part of the Service Kit, Or was it leaking?

Reason I ask is because I know the Valve Clearances require checking quite regularly on these Cars, Every 18K Miles rings a bell.

Good Attention to Detail by the Way, I am considering buying One of these as a Daily Driver to replace my MK1 Skoda Fabia VRS....

I once had an Ignis Sport which was a lot of fun.

Didn't know about the valve clearances as my mrs has one that's a bit tappy when cold. Maybe its that.

Sorry for the late reply, life has got in the way recently.

You are correct about the valve clearance checks at 18k intervals. But I changed my gasket as a matter of course, I'd rather know it was done by doing it myself than trusting a service book, as I didn't have the car from new (but is a full history)

Bit slow coming, but a minor update,
Gave the car a bit of love today, Winter oil change with OE filter and sump gasket carried out along with a set of Yokohama S-Drives for the rear. After being impressed with them on the front, I've ditched the GY F1's in favour for these. All tyres are now matching which looks a lot nicer too.

I was also having an issue with my heated seat install. The seats would not power until the car was warm. I checked all connections and everything was as it should be. I went back to basics and checked the battery which showed 58% health. Right before the cold weather is due to kick in, I took no chances and changed it for a new one, OE Suzuki VARTA battery. Bit annoying really as the old battery was OE and only 2 years old but there we go.

How did you find the tyres on the front? Looking for a new set of fronts for the wifes swift sport and saw the s drives. She doesn't drive it hard and still has the continental sport 3s on hers.
