I've heard good things about Gleem Detailing hoses and they'll probably be who I go to if I ever need to replace my Kranzle hose. They don't list 30m on the site but might be worth dropping them an email.

 

Hello mate, I’ve just bought a K4 and went for a 10m hose from QWashers, available from eBay. Here’s the link to the product I bought:

Didn’t go for a massively extended length, but its waaaay more manageable and nice to use and store! I can’t comment on longevity as only had a single use.

Struggled to get it to connect well to OE the Karcher gun (so far) but just test driven a stubby gun and quick release lance set up and it was a MASSIVE improvement all round. The gun and lance seemed to add about 40bar of effective power vs the vario lance as well!

 

I’ve measured up the length I need and ideally it’s 23m get me along the drive without moving the karcher so I’ll go for a 20m length Over the 30m in case I suffer a power drop. However I’m only using it to wash my Vw t4 not to be blasting the drive clean etc…so as long as it’s not a trickle I’ll be good😁

i priced up a today from a local pipe supplier about £85 for 20m and 4 joiners as he doesn’t have to k4 ends That go into the machine and the pressure gun...so explained they will need to cut my pipe and to keep the existing push fits then have the joiners in between with the 20m hose seems a bit of a faff if I’m being honest, can’t believe that’s the best solution….

qwashers also mention ‘just change end types’ is this the same issue?.

I thought it would be easy to buy a new replacement 20m length of pressure hose and a new gun if that is an easier solution maybe??

 

I would advise to delve into the hydraulic calculations on hose. It isn't rocket science and if you are not familiar, it's not too difficult to find out.
30m is a very long discharge length and will encounter friction reduction on small ID's. Delivery of pressure is easy, but flow out of the end will be the concern the longer the hose is.
A decent retailer should be able to advise you on this. 🤞

 

Tony makes a very valid point which I'll echo. I happen to own a K4 with a 20m QWashers hose, paired to a MTM SGS35 stubby gun. The 20m hose is excellent quality but there is the slightest hint of pressure/flow drop at that length so I suspect 30m would be far too much for the K4.

I only really noticed the slight drop the one time I used the 20m hose with the Karcher gun and patio cleaner. it's never bothered me when cleaning the car, but it is there nonetheless! FWIW, 20m is a looong hose and allows me to leave the PW at the back of the garage while I was the car outside the garage, and that includes being able to circle the entire car (308 estate) with the hose so no need to switch sides.

I wouldn't go for that length of hose - I added an extra length to my hose (K4) and did notice a slight drop off - this wasn't an issue as it was for when I was using the patio sprayer, but for the car, use standard length and don't have an issue and don't need to move the PW - I tend to have it near one of the front wheels and can get to the opposite side / corner either way

 

The easiest way around this is to have a wall mounted hose reel installed in the garage or place where it will be protected from frost.
I installed one in my garage, then made small holes in the wall with plastic pipe and covers on the outside. The pipe can be pulled out and extend as long as you need to the place where you want to use the PW'er.
The suction/supply line needs to be of a larger ID to allow a slower flow of water in a lager volume than the machine will require.
It'[s neat n tidy and quick to allow it to reel in on the hose reel spring, caps on and back inside and out of the elements. It wont suffer IV damage too.

@olliewells It was the only photo I found available quickly to illustrate the hose setup when replying to the OP. The elements kill these items, but placed inside they keep like new.

The QuickJacks are just worth it when needed, but can be seen as underused items. They are really worth having even if under utilised. They are really useful for polishing side panels of car and easier on the back. A lot more pleasurable and comfortable working in a decent position.
Not sure what they cost now, but there are times when they have them on offer.
They are absolutely clear USA style fabricated and designed, with decent strength steel and welding, rams etc. which tick a box for me. Storing away as I have was a good move.

My poor sciatica-riddled back would certainly be interested in them, and for stripping all 4 wheels off at a time for a deep clean! Maybe one day....

Damn, I'm looking at the Quickjacks now too !, I've got to change the gearbox oil and filter on my automatic 5 series BMW and it has to be raised perfectly level to accomplish this and you have to start the engine and go through the gears whilst up in the air and the Quickjack looks perfect for that.
Time to browse Ebay for some !!

 

This being the latest PW thread I want to revisit the input side and say that although the Karcher K2 is the lowest spec unit it doesn't pulse for me with an auto stop on the hose.

It is a long time since the PW has been used but been out and cleaned a load of paving slabs with it and no pulsing.

... and I would like a penny for every time I have stated how I blame a Karcher causing me psychological damage. It would do my swede in pulsing snd woblling and falling over. Even had it repaired and almost immediately carried on pulsing. It had to go.
They seem to be well popular now, so either improved their products, or it's just down to cost.
My therapy was buying two Kranzles. My trauma dissipated a bit rapid.
Quickly reminded each Karcher thread though. 🙈

I bought one two years ago and it has been faultless for me. Only thing I've replaced on it was a small rubber o ring. As others have already stated, 30 m is alot of hose. I got a 15m one and it is more than sufficient to reach all around a car.

i watched forensic detailing about the trigger guns and went to buy the trigger from in2detailing (out of stock) but ended up buying 20m hose and possibly the same gun from cleantec…… when they land and the weather is better I’ll give them a whirl and I’ll update this post regarding my personal findings….👍
