There are two versions of the EB351 5 inch. One has 12 mm orbit and the other has a 15 mm orbit. What are the pros and cons of each?

Got the following response from Shinemate:

A short throw means it covers a small surface area, but can be more precise. A long-throw polisher covers more surface area but may need several passes to cover a concentrated area. The long throw is a popular option for its speed and ability to correct paint faster.

I'd be using it mainly on a 911 Turbo, 1 series and an RX7 so would the 12mm orbit be better due to the panel curvature?

The smaller orbit machine should be less liable to stall on curved panels and, theoretically, produce a finer finish although it probably won't be noticeable to the naked eye.

If you have a a lot of heavy correction to do I'd probably choose the 15mm orbit machine that will get the job done a bit quicker. However, be mindful that cordless machines can be more prone to pad stalling than their corded equivalents. (Video below - FF to 20.06)

I would also consider a 3"/80mm machine for heavily curved/contoured panels and edge work.
