Which glass sealants / coatings have the best low speed beading off

Hello everyone,

I've been using Glaco Ultra, and I'm not entirely satisfied with its performance around town and on A roads under 45 MPH. I'm seeking suggestions for products that offer better performance at low speeds. While exploring, I came across H2GO. Are there any other recommendations you can share?

I use Angelwax Exodus at the moment have used H2Go previously and many others.

Personally if the majority of your driving is 45mph or less I would just make sure you have a perfectly clean screen rather than apply a sealant.

Never used G5 above as for me the application process was too fussy though I actually thought durability was supposed to be very good with it.

I’m still convinced these costings act differently on different raked windscreens also they all seem to work better if the glaco compound is used before applying them I’ve had intermittent judder on my jag but on both the kodiaq and my MIL’s Honda no issues whatsoever- that’s both H2go & Glaco @Swanthecat what car was it on sporty saloon or family suv? I’d certainly not describe either as rubbish.

@gurj001 I’ve found that water on H2go does seem to start running a bit sooner than glaco but as mentioned above if most of your driving is in/about town you may be best served by having a clean screen most of my driving is on 60/70mph roads so having a coating on is generally a benefit

I agree with @IvorB1H My wife's MX5 never lasts as long as any of my cars. Ive posted this before but I've tried quite a few glass coatings and despite prep, application etc being identical any coating never lasts as long on the MX5. I used to think she used the wipers/scooshers more which will obviously impact however she's now working mainly from home and even when i've been using it it doesn't last as long.

Tried one of the glaco years ago think I got it at waxstock but was the one with the felt applicator attached to it which I thought was a good idea but just never liked it.

@Swanthecat it is always interesting the different experiences people have so I wouldn't automatically discredit all reviews but it is one reason I prefer to see experiences on here as too many online reviews are paid for and it's hard to determine what is genuine and what is paid. I wouldn't slate glaco either based on your experience as it works for others.

Glass coatings are regularly discussed on here some like them some hate them and would never use them which can be down to various reasons but doesn't mean their all rubbish.

It is amazing how vastly different experiences can be I had Glaco & H2go working for months MIL’s car Glaco was applied in April and according to her the “water blobs” stopped around August/september on her Honda she drives daily through muddy farmyards and the 20 or so minute journey to our house 2/3 times a week but little on motorways - mostly fast country lanes. wife’s new car was purchased first week of September and I put H2go on that a week or so after (17/09) and it’s still performing. And never have had (so far) any ghosting or juddering issues on those two vehicles (I drive the wife’s often as she prefers to be a passenger on family outings)

like @macca666 says we all have differing experiences with the same products and it’s always good to get several views and ultimately try yourself with your car under your conditions to see what does & doesn’t work for you.

also like to say that I have had judder on my jag but @atbalfour was extremely helpful in helping me resolve it without removing the coating as personally I like having them on 😊

My wiper arm seized on my old car as I used H20. Seized through the lack of use of using wipers...that's a true story. I found I was getting a decent 3 months with H20. its easy to apply and remove. Found it better in the winter as well, as the frost/ice could be removed by using my fingers, Glaco the frost/ice proper freezes on the windows.
