My broadband supplier say they don't supply wired modems anymore and only do wireless, whats better and can I just get any wired modem and get it to work with my ISP?

Ok have found an old netgear wireless modem I had, it has 4 LAN outlets, I presume I can just get a cable from the LAN to the USB and I should be on the way?
No, LAN has to connect to another LAN connector (or RJ45 to give it a proper name), if your PC is not massively old then it will likely have this port on it already by the USB ones on the back
